London Triathlon 2007
Chris Rigg is the Manager of Ellis Brigham, Covent Garden - a busy man by all accounts but still finds time to train and compete in the London Triathlon on 4th & 5th August 2007.
The Triathlon will be his third and his first Olympic distance. The event takes place at the Excel centre in London docklands and consists of a 1500m swim in Victoria docks followed by a 40km cycle which takes in a loop to Tower Bridge and will culminate in a 10km run around the docks.
Chris decided to take part in the Triathlon after tiring of his local gym and desiring something more challenging. He will not be alone in his quest and is joined by his friend Will Wright who are both competing for Leukaemia Research. Currently they have raised over £1700 pounds (see below right for latest live total) and are still taking donations www.justgiving.com/midlifecrisistriathlon.
The Michelob ULTRA London Triathlon is now the largest triathlon in the world with over 8,000 people racing in 2005. The whole event is broadcast on BBC Grandstand and raises over £1 million for various charities visit www.thelondontriathlon.com for more details.
